SFP Group Supports the Development of New Hospitality Group Oberland: First Hotel Opens in Scotland
With the successful opening of the Arthouse Glasgow hotel in Glasgow at the end of June 2026, the strategic investment of Swiss Finance & Property Group (SFP Group) in Oberland LLP (Oberland) reaches an important milestone. As Oberland’s founding investor, the SFP Group invested both in the Oberland group itself and in its inaugural hotel project.
The opening of Arthouse Glasgow highlights the SFP Group’s strategic international investment in the hospitality sector. By investing in Oberland at an early stage, the SFP Group is supporting the development of a new hotel group with expertise and focus on operational real estate. Oberland is an asset-backed hospitality platform focused on acquiring, restoring and operating distinctive heritage buildings as lifestyle hotels and hospitality destinations across Europe.
In addition to its investment in Oberland, the SFP Group also invested directly in the group’s first hotel project. The opening marks another milestone in the successful development of an international hospitality platform and further strengthens the SFP Group’s track record in European real estate investments.
“With Oberland, we are investing in an experienced entrepreneurial team with a clear vision and a compelling concept. The opening of the first hotel confirms the potential of this partnership and represents an important milestone in the further development of the hotel group,” says Sina Shamsoddin, Strategic Project Manager at the SFP Group.
Arthouse Glasgow features 76 rooms and is located in a restored 19th-century building in the heart of Glasgow’s cultural district. It combines historic architecture with contemporary design and a high-quality gastronomy concept. Oberland and SFP co-invested alongside RealVantage, a Singaporean investment platform and the cornerstone investor in the Glasgow project, marking a significant achievement in Oberland’s international investor base. It is the first hotel under the Oberland brand, with an additional project in Manchester under development and opening in the coming months, as well as other locations across the UK already in the planning stage.
William Riordan, co-founder of Oberland, says: “The SFP Group has supported our vision from the very beginning. This long-term partnership has been instrumental in bringing Arthouse Glasgow to life and provides a foundation for the continued expansion of our group.”
Through its investment in Oberland, the SFP Group continues to expand its international hospitality activities. The partnership complements the SFP Group’s existing international investment business and underlines its commitment to investing at an early stage in compelling real estate concepts and experienced entrepreneurial teams.
