On 28 January 2021, Swiss Finance & Property Group held its first virtual SFP Swiss Real Estate Funds Day. It met with great success and set a new record, with approximately 440 guests viewing the live stream. In addition to the traditional economic issues, the ecological aspects of real estate management were discussed this year.
The SFP Swiss Real Estate Funds Day, the traditional event organised by Swiss Finance & Property Group (SFP Group), was held virtually in 2021 due to the current situation. Simultaneous interpreting into French was provided at the event that was held in German.
Following a welcome and introduction by Adrian Murer, CEO of the SFP Group, Anastassios Frangulidis, Head of Multi-Asset and Chief Strategist at Pictet Asset Management, and Nicolas Di Maggio, Head of Asset Management Indirect Investments at SFP Group, provided a macroeconomic overview of the real estate market. In the first section on the economy and real estate, Cyrill Schneuwly, CEO of Intershop, and Roger Hennig, Head of Real Estate Switzerland and Nordics at Schroder Investment Management AG, talked about the coronavirus and the economic challenges in the commercial real estate sector. Those in attendance agreed that demand for Swiss real estate will remain high this year.
Keynote speaker Prof. Jan Dirk Wegner, Head of the EcoVision Lab at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, then gave a clear presentation on the acuteness of the global situation with respect to diversity and how artificial intelligence is used in measurements. In the second section on sustainability in connection with real estate, Béatrice Gollong, Head of Transactions and Location Marketing at HIAG Immobilien AG, Daniela Jorio, who is in charge of sustainability in the real estate business at UBS, and Adrian Murer set out the principles of sustainability, which they underscored using striking practical examples.
