Further progress towards responsible investment with GRESB.
For the past several years, different management teams within the Swiss Finance & Property Group (SFP Group) have been implementing specific initiatives to enable the complete integration of environmental, social and governance topics into all our management processes. This is now paying off: the SFP AST Global Core Property investment group has been GRESB certified since March 2021 and uses the GRESB portfolio analysis tool to assess all its investments.
The SFP Group has made further progress with its offer for socially responsible investment (SRI).
The SFP Group has been a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) since 2019 and published its first ESG report in 2020. The SFP Group continues to strongly prioritise initiatives to improve the sustainability of its products and to anticipate and meet the expectations of its investors.
The SFP Group became a GRESB Investor Member in March 2021, thus confirming the approach of Asset Management Indirect at the SFP Group of engaging even more with the managers of the products in which it invests.
The GRESB certification of the SFP AST Global Core Property investment group is a milestone. GRESB assessments are shaped by what real estate investors consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of investments. The methodology aligns with international reporting frameworks such as GRI, PRI, SASB, DJSI and TCFD recommendations, and is based on the principles of the Paris Climate Agreement, the UN's Sustainable Development Goals as well as regional and country-specific disclosure guidelines. Swiss solutions for indirect real estate investments will also benefit directly from the GRESB's portfolio analysis tool that provides global access to more than 1,200 funds and investment companies with assets under management of 5.3 billion US dollars. Nicolas Di Maggio, Head Asset Management Indirect at the SFP Group says: "Just over half of the assets under management in the Swiss investment universe are already covered by GRESB. We will actively work to increase this share in the coming years. This will benefit the entire industry, and investors can take decisions together with their managers that will lead to a more sustainable and robust industry."
SFP Group will present the GRESB assessment of the portfolios of its global real estate investment groups on 4 May 2021. With an estimated rating of more than 80 points, the two products by far exceed the average for their competing products and the funds in the GRESB universe (70). This reflects the company's commitment to investing with managers who are best positioned to overcome future challenges in achieving sustainable development.
