In 2023, the Shopping Center Forum addressed the challenging topic of sustainability.
The topic of sustainability is also on the minds of Swiss shopping centres: Sustainability has become a firmly anchored part of the industry. In addition to the financial return, targeted consideration is also given to the benefits for the environment and society. Progress is supported by the various stakeholders - from the owners to the tenants to the consumers.
As keynote speaker, supported by Swiss Finance & Property Group, Dr. David Bosshard, Retail & Consumer Analyst, President of the Duttweiler Foundation, Intl., Global and Local Speaker, Founder Bosshart & Partners gave an overview presentation on the topic: Dawn of a new era in retail: Sustainable growth after the end of "cheap".
Our involvement shows that the topic is very important to us. Thomas Lavater, Portfolio Manager of the SF Retail Properties Fund, and his team took advantage of the forum to get new impulses on the one hand and to further cultivate the industry network on the other.
Photovoltaic systems are currently installed in around 12% of the properties in the SF Retail Properties Fund.
They already produce more than 848 kWh of electricity, which results in an annual electricity supply for around 179 households. The electricity generated flows back into the power circuit of the respective property and supplies its tenants with ecological electricity.
